PARAMEDIC - FULL TIME 

Eldora-Ackley EMS is hiring a full time Paramedic. This position will provide patients, staff, and the
public, a high standard of patient care, dignity, and respect in both the emergent and non-emergent
care settings. This position will provide safety education and training to our city employees, citizens,
and visitors.

Responsibilities include evaluating patients and provide necessary care ensuring that
documentation is maintained of all medical treatment provided. Assist with various station and
administrative duties as needed including cleaning, maintaining equipment, vehicles, buildings, and
adjacent grounds. Maintains patient confidentiality and performs all cares with respect for patient
rights.

Qualifications include High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required as well as a
current paramedic certification. Must obtain a valid chauffeurs license within 6 months. Have a current
BLS, ALS, and PALS certification and maintain those certifications.

STREETS, PARKS, AND CEMETERY TECHNICAN - FULL TIME

The City of Eldora is hiring a Streets, Parks, and Cemetery Techician. This position will perform work involving operation, maintenance, and construction necessary to properly operate and maintain the streets, parks, and cemetery and perform related work as required. This position will require the ability and knowledge to operate tractors, graders, street sweepers, mowers, trucks, trimmers, chain saws, and other City owned equipment.

Minimum Edication, Experience and Training

  • Successful completion of high school or GED
  • Preferred three (3) years experience in the operation of motorized construction equipment and in the construction trade
  • Use of hand tools used in the maintenance and repair of vehciles and other motorized and non-motorized equipment
  • Ability to read and write

Licensure and Certiciations

  • Posession of, or ability to obtain, a grade B Commerical Driver License (ICDL), and appropriate endorsements within six (6) months of appointment

EMT, AMT, PARAMEDIC - PRN

Eldora EMS is a premier emergency medical service provider in Hardin County, Iowa. We cover a response area of over 350 square miles and manage an annual call volume of approximately 1,000 calls for service. With two strategically located stations in Eldora and Ackley, we operate a fleet of 5 ambulances fully equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Position Requirements

GENERAL:

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
  • Prefer candidates with Critical Care (CCP) endorsement

ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR - HYBRID

Job Summary: This position is a hybrid and will be responsible for the administration of grants, projects, and human resource functions for the City of Eldora.  This would include tracking and responding to grant requests and deadlines on behalf of the city.  Design and implement other projects to ensure a smooth operation of all city departments.  Conduct hiring practices and interviews according to best human resource practices and schedule orientation to ensure proper paperwork completion and maintain records. This would also include supporting departments and administration with HR related issues related to policy implementation, interpretation, and code of conduct issues. 

Essential Functions: 

Act as the Cities point of contact and design and implement strategies to be compliant with The City of Eldora’s Brownfields Grant and all projects relating to clean up and site development for projects that will promote, or attract new business or economic development to the City of Eldora 

Monitor budgets and provide reports for maintaining fiscal responsibility for funds dedicated to each project, and project updates are provided timely. 

Work closely with all departments to ensure that communication on projects and implementation of new procedures or processes is handled effectively. 

Conduct LADS (Learning after doing session) to improve performance of the succeeding projects. 

Coordinates other agencies as needed to ensure all resources are provided for each project and the project scope is communicated clearly. 

Will coordinate and provide direction and scheduling of city council committee meetings. 

Pursue funding sources for each project and ensure that the funds are managed and tracked appropriately. 

Provide Human Resource support for the City of Eldora including recruitment, onboarding, and record management for all departments. 

Assist in the selection and implementation of benefit programs and review utilization and customer support for employees of the city. 

Train and provide direction on performance appraisal process and assist leadership teams on helping improve performance of employees and the department goals. 

 

Qualifications: 

Must have excellent experience in all Microsoft Office products including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Outlook. 

Excellent communication skills both verbally and in written communications. 

Experience in municipal government and the process to achieve results in a city or government entity. 

Experience in developing and maintaining projects from conception to completion. 

Ability to read and understand project specifications and analyze cost benefit comparisons. 

Experience in accounting and/or human resources.   

Preferred three years of experience as a supervisor and the ability to provide direction in a group setting.
